St Pete Experiences In 2 Minutes

Updated: December 19, 2025

St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay offer endless activities beyond the beach. Explore farmers markets on Central Avenue, world-class museums like the Salvador Dali and Florida Holocaust Museum, and family-friendly spots including Great Explorations Children's Museum. Nature lovers can wander the Historic Sunken Gardens while animal enthusiasts enjoy Clearwater Marine Aquarium and ZooTampa.

Here's quick highlights of memorable experiences around St. Pete and Tampa!

St. Petersburg Saturday Morning Market happens at two different locations: Al Lang Stadium parking lot (October through May, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Williams Park (June through September, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.). You can buy fresh produce, prepared foods, crafts, and souvenirs at this market that features over 100 vendors weekly.

Take the time to appreciate the exhibits of arts and the history by visiting museums such as Gulf Beaches Historical Museums and the Salvador Dali Museum. Another unique place in St. Pete Beach is the Florida Holocaust Museum. The museum houses over 13,500 objects in its collection overall, including artifacts, photographs, and educational materials, along with about 400 survivor and liberator testimonials.

If you are traveling with kids, visiting the Great Explorations Children's Museum would be worth your while. It provides great educational exhibits in science and technology, art and animals too.

Enjoy the sunset and many more relaxing amenities at Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach, where a free nightly sunset celebration features street performers, artisans, and live entertainment from two hours before to two hours after sunset.

If you love nature, St. Petersburg Historic Sunken Gardens is for you! You can take a breather here just by taking a walk and enjoying the greens that will take your mind away from the busy life you live. Guided tours are available to learn about the garden's history spanning more than 100 years. George Turner Sr. purchased the property in 1903 and began developing it into the botanical paradise it is today.

If you are looking for some classic entertainment, Mahaffey Theater is here for you! They feature a great variety of performances from classic music to Broadway shows. I caught a wonderful evening performance at Mahaffey Theater during one of my visits.

As an animal lover myself, I also recommend the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. It is a home for rescued animals that were previously injured in the wild. They take care of the animals until they are ready to go back to the wild after they are healed from their injuries.

As a break from the beach, head over to ZooTampa! From animal encounters to feed experiences and new attractions in 2022, there's no shortage of fun for any age!
