Tampa Bay's international dining scene takes you beyond seafood to five authentic cuisines. German schnitzel in Brandon, Peruvian ceviche in Tampa, Haitian oxtail on Busch Boulevard, Serbian kebabs in St. Petersburg, and Ethiopian stews await adventurous eaters seeking global flavors without leaving town.

The Tampa Bay area is known for its fabulous seafood. But there are times I want to expand my culinary horizons.
If you're up for a gastronomical trip around the world, this area is the perfect launchpad.
Taste of Berlin serves authentic German food for dinner Tuesday through Saturday. I and my husband enjoyed schnitzel, spaetzle, Gluehwein, and of course, German beer at this spot. This cozy spot offers indoor and outdoor dining and is located at 526 Oakfield Dr. in Brandon. Your stomach will say danke schön!
Terra Sur Café offers Peruvian cuisine which is known for its diverse array of seafood dishes including ceviche. This beautiful establishment offers a full bar as well as a wine room. Terra Sur Café is located at 5330 Ehrlich Rd Suite 103 in Tampa.
Kreyol Delight is a delight of a restaurant serving Haitian food. Menu selections range from pork, chicken, oxtail and conch with traditional sides of plantains, mushroom black rice, beans and more. Kreyol Delight is open Tuesday through Saturday at 4818 East Busch Blvd. in Tampa.

Balkan cuisine is something that most Americans haven't tried and that's a shame. Fortunately, there's Serbian Mediteran Restaurant in St. Petersburg. This small sit-down restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday and serves up popular Balkan dishes such as Serbian Schnitzels and shish kebabs. Serbian Mediteran Restaurant is located at 6500 4th St North.
